Hanging ceramic hearts with flowers, wedding favors

Heart-shaped decorations with botanical impressions of leaves and flowers painted in cobalt blue. You can hang them to decorate the walls of your home, or on the keys of antique furniture. In the winter season they are perfect as Christmas tree decorations.

Since the hearts on the back are unglazed, the porous terracotta is able to hold a few drops of essential oil so you can also use the hearts as scenters for drawers and cabinets. Because of their small size, they are one of our most popular products as wedding favors or other special events. You can personalize the hearts yourself with names and date by using a fine-tipped indelible marker, even gold, on the back of the hearts. Being porous, the back of the heart absorbs the ink and does not release it.

Pottery Making Process

UNIQUE PIECES
The photographs shown are indicative. The plant print on the item you receive may change slightly as each piece is unique, original and unrepeatable. Since we use real leaves and flowers for the imprint, each one is different from the other, and that is what makes our products special! A postcard will also be included with the product telling about the technique of working with botanical pottery using real plants. HAND-MADE OBJECTS
Each item was produced by us and is part of a series dedicated to Agneta Block Botany and Dutch Pottery of the 1600s. Small irregularities in the surface, print or color are part of the craftsmanship.

PROCESS
We made the objects with a white earthenware, then printed with real flowers and leaves, hand painted in blue, hand signed on the bottom and fired the first time in cookie. Then we glazed them with a glossy transparent crystalline and fired them again at a temperature of 960°C. The glazes used are suitable for containing food and beverages, as they are non-toxic and lead-free. The objects can be washed in the dishwasher, but we always recommend hand washing, as in the long run aggressive dishwasher washing could ruin them.
